The Argyll and Bute Addiction Team (ABAT) is an integrated team comprising staff from NHS Highland and Argyll and Bute Council. Staff include Social Workers, Nurses and a Psychiatrist all of whom are specialists in Addiction work. ABAT provides services across Argyll and Bute from bases in Dunoon, Rothesay, Helensburgh, Oban (outreach to Mull and Tiree), Lochgilphead and Campbeltown (outreach to Islay). Services include Assessment, Recovery Planning, Harm Reduction, Sexual Health Information, Blood Borne Virus Information and Testing, Opioid Replacement Therapy and Naloxone Training and Supply. Referral is via another professional e.g. GP, Social Worker etc. Members of the public and fellow professionals are most welcome to contact us for information and advice.

          Addaction has been commissioned to provide a new recovery service across Argyll & Bute. The service is for people and families who need support around their own or someone else’s drug or alcohol use. It’s a really simple process to access our services, you can contact us by telephone on one of the numbers below or email us. One of our experienced staff will be on hand to speak with you and provide support. They will also arrange to meet you in person in a location that is convenient for you.

          KADAS (Kintyre Alcohol and Drugs Advisory Service)

          KADAS offers a range of services and takes a holistic approach to support individuals and families experiencing problems associated with alcohol and drugs. KADAS provides confidential counselling and support, complimentary therapies, stress management, Acudetox, Drug Treatment and Testing Orders, home visits, employability support. Kadas works in partnership to support young people through a range of services and in youth facilities.

          Oban Addiction Support and Information Service is a voluntary organisation which helps those affected by substance misuse, providing confidential and non-judgemental support and advice. The aim of the organisation is to assist drug users to lead ordinary lives, access mainstream services and develop positive relationships in a person centred approach. Services provided include: adult service, youth service, family support service, arrest referral scheme, drug treatment and testing orders.
